Spring Fever Challenge: Wrap Up

Yet another challenge has come and gone.  Here is my review!

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
I lost 3lbs.  I have really been struggling with losing weight lately, but I am NOT giving up! I am going to make my goal yet!

2. Exercise 3x a week!
Failed miserably at this one.  Oh well.

3. C25k program!
I became a single mom shortly after this challenge began so I had to give this one up.  Maybe some day!

4. Scrapbook more!
I don't think I scrapped a single page.  :(

5. Read more!
I read 2 books during this challenge.  Makes me happy! Reading is good for the soul.

6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!
This is something that is always going to be a work in progress.  I feel like I got a lot accomplished but still have lots more to go!

Positive Picture:
Me and my little girl after her first dance recital!  She made mommy so PROUD!

Life's Journey with a Smile

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:
When I began this journey last August, I was in a size 16 jeans! Now I am in a 10!

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
I lost .2lbs this week (G1); its not much, but better then going in the OTHER direction!  I finished reading Living Dead Girl and picked up another book that I had gotten about 1/2 through (G5).  I also did some cleaning/purging of clothes that I haven't worn in FOREVER (G6)!

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
I bought myself 2 new pairs of jeans and two new shirts! I also colored my hair!

With one week left, what is your plan?
Just keep plugging along! I know that might now seem like much of a "plan" but its the best I can do right now!

What time of day are you most productive?
Mid-mornings are the best for me! Its when I feel the most awake and motivated!

Fun Question: Are you reading a book right now? If so, share! If not, what was the last good book you read?
I am reading Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris; its book 4 in the Sookie Stackhouse series.   I just finished reading Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott.

Spring Fever Challenge: Week 10

Life's Journey with a Smile

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:

Just a reminder for myself that life is too short to not forgive!!!

What have you done this past week to help achieve your goals?
I lost 2lbs this week (G1)!!! I am almost done with Living Dead Girl (G5) and also did more cleaning/purging (G6).

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
I tried to stick to program better and it apparently paid off!

With two full weeks left in the challenge, what goals are you making your priority?
I am really going to focus on goal #1! I only have about 10lbs left to loose so its time to get some ass kicking going!  The exercise is also going to have to go hand in hand!

Summer is just around the corner, which season do you find the easiest to accomplish goals?
I think summer is the hardest for me as I am not on my normal work schedule and when I am off routine its hard to stay on track! This summer I am going to work REALLY hard to kick ass!

Fun Question: What do you miss most about being a kid?
The lack of responsibility! LOL!

Spring Fever Challenge: Week 9

Life's Journey with a Smile

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:
My little cheese face!!! She is just so precious and keeps me going through all that I have going on!

What have you done this past week to help achieve your goals?
I exercised 2x this week (G2)! WOO HOO!  I started reading a new book called Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott (G5).  Its an addicting book that I can not put down!  Its so sad and horrifying, but sooooo GOOD! Goal 3 (C25k) has been crossed out as I have recently found myself in the position of being a single mom to my three year old so getting out there to run has been impossible. I have also done more on G6 in my kitchen and living-room.

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
I surrounded myself with family and friends who are extremely supportive of me in all that I am going through. With out them all I would never survive this ordeal.

What is your ultimate fitness goal in life?
To get to my goal weight and maintain it!!!

Do you have something you'd like to accomplish but think you can't?
I'd love to live debt free, but I don't see that happening, EVER!

Fun Question: Do you wear perfume/cologne? If so what kind?
Oh, love this question!  For the past 10 or so years I have only worn body spray out of respect for someone in my life due to perfume causing headaches, but now that I am moving on I can start wearing it again! I have been thinking about it a lot lately and have no idea what is out there these days that smells nice! Anyone have an suggestions?

Spring Fever Challenge: Week 8

Life's Journey with a Smile

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:
Kayley and I added two new cuties to our family of two this week!  Meet Flash (left) and Hopper (right)!

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
Hmm... honestly, not much.  I did do some cleaning and purging in the basement as well as Kayley's bedroom (G6).  Other then that not much at all.  :(  I've got a ton of crap going on in my life right now and there are some HUGE changes on the horizon.  These changes are pretty over whelming to me right now and I feel like I am barely hanging on.

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
Again, nothing. I am feeling like I am not worthy of many things right now.

How do you measure success of your goals?
Simply by seeing myself make progress towards them and eventually accomplishing them.

What is failure to you when it comes to goals?
When I don't achieve them in what I consider a reasonable amount of time.

Fun Question: If you could hop on a plane right now, where would you go?
To California to see my Grammy.  I haven't seen her in 3 years and I miss her terribly.

Life's Journey with a Smile

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
This week was pretty laid back so I didn't do too much towards my goals!  I was on April Vacation and spent the time soaking up all I could of my sweet daughter (pictured above).  I did do lots of reading in my spare time (G5).

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
I spent a ton of time enjoying my daughter!  She is just such a love! So smart and wise above her years!!

It's May! What were your victories in April? Challenges?
I lost some weight, so that is something.  As for challenges I have a lot going on in my personal life so its been tough to focus on the things I have set as goals.

Do you have any plans for the challenge in May?
Ya, get back to my goals! LOL!

Fun Question: What is your favourite type of ethnic cuisine?
Hmm... I really like Italian  and Sushi is YUMMY too!

Spring Fever Challenge: Week 4

Life's Journey with a Smile

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:

This is what I wore for Easter.  Its a size 10 skirt and the shirt is a Junior size large! WOO HOO! I am so thrilled!!!

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
I have lost a total of -1.2lbs since the start of this challenge (G1); that is a bit disappointing, but I will keep working at it!  I continued reading my book (G5).  I also listed a bunch more items on craigslist(G6).

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
Wearing the clothes I wore on Easter was HUGE for me!! I am not a skirt person because I have always hated how I look in them because of all the extra weight!  Now that I am getting off the poundage I feel like I can wear fun stuff and feel good about it!

Fill in the blanks:
Teaching comes naturally to me.
Exercise and eating healthy does not come naturally to me.
I wish exercise came naturally to me.

Fun Question:  What is your favourite Easter candy? Are you allowing yourself some this year?
I love Cadbury eggs and peeps!!  (OMG, did you know they make chocolate covered peeps now????)  Yes I am allowing myself to have some easter goodies! I have learned not to deny myself things because I end up binging to fill the craving!!

Spring Fever Challenge: Week 3

Life's Journey with a Smile

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:
We have been painting like mad to get our kitchen done! It went from a yucky yellow to primer white to this lovely red!!!  The picture does NOT do it justice! It is such a striking color!

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
I exercised 3x this week (G2)!!!! I also began the C25k program (G3) again. I did do some reading this week, but not as much as I had been (G5).  The painting of our kitchen is part of the process to be happier with our home so I think that can count towards G6. (Not sure where I stand with weight loss as I have yet to WI as I WI on Monday evenings.)

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
The thing I did for myself this week was hitting the road and getting C25k going again! I really enjoy running; the stress relief and mind clearing is WONDERFUL!

Are your SFC goals your ultimate goals or steps to your ultimate goals?  Do you find it easier to set big goals or do you like making mini-goals?
My ultimate goal would be to live a happy, fulfilled life so I guess my goals here are stepping stones towards that.  I like to have a big goal set, but I need to break it down into small attainable goals to see that I am making progress.

What are some of your ultimate goals, things on your bucket list?
1. I want to take DD to Disney in FL some day and give her the whole nine yards with it; the FULL Disney experience.  2. I want to visit Ireland some day.  3. I'd love to get my Masters Degree and teach college classes.  4. To live a happy, fulfilled life.

Fun Question: If you could achieve only one more thing in your life, what would it be?
Right now I'd say my weight loss goal as that would mean I would be healthy and able to lead a happy, long life.

Spring Fever Challenge: Week 2

Life's Journey with a Smile

Sorry this is soooooooooo LATE! We lost our internet connection on Monday and didn't get it back til Wednesday and today is the first bit of down time I've had to blog!

My Goals:
1. Lose 8lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week!
3. C25k program!
4. Scrapbook more!
5. Read more!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!

Positive Picture:

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
I completed reading a book and began another one (G5).  I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series and LOVE IT!  I am on book 4.  I exercised 4x this week (G2); so proud of myself! Not all traditional type exercise, but still exercise! I also worked on throwing away some more stuff from my basement that I haven't used in a VERY long time (G6).

What did you do this past week to make you feel good about yourself?
This is going to sound sad, but I am not really good at this!  Doing things that make me feel good about myself are few and far between these days. I need to get better about this!

Is your mindset future-oriented or living in the now? How does this impact you when you are working towards a goal?
Normally, I would think towards the future, but right now I am in survival mode so I can only think of living in the now.  It really depends on the goal on how my mindset is; I know that sounds like a cop-out answer, but its the truth!

Is there someone in your {real} life that inspires you to strive for the best?
My mum! She is a very strong woman and she never ceases to amaze me with all she does!

Fun Question of the Week: Do you read blogs on the individual websites or via Google Reader?
I read on the individual websites, but I want to check out google reader!

Spring Fever Challenge: Start Up!

Life's Journey with a Smile

What are your goals for the Spring Fever Challenge? Why did you choose them?
1. Lose 8lbs!  If I lose the 8 by the end of this challenge I will down to 134lbs! YAHOO!! That will put me super close to my ultimate goal of 128lbs!
2. Exercise 3x a week! I know exercise is the KEY to my losing weight!
3. Start the C25k program again and work towards completing it. I started working on this program last summer and made it only through the 4th week.  I am going to try again!!!
4. Scrapbook more! I am so far behind on my scrapping and its just depressing me!!!
5. Read more! I love to read and find it very relaxing.  I need some stress relievers in my life and reading is a great way!
6. Continue cleaning, organizing, and purging in my home!  I made great progress with this in the Winter Challenge and I am so motivated to keep working at it!

What is your plan of action to make them happen?
I am just going to give them my all and try my best! That's all I can do!

What does this challenge mean to you?
The last challenge we did over the winter was a great anchor for me!!!  I am hoping this one will serve the same purpose as well!!!

Fun Question of the Week: Let's  get to know each other! What is something most people (er... fellow bloggers) don't know about you?
Hmmm... what to share? What to share?  I was born in California, but moved with my family to New England when I was 11; we dealt with a very large earth quake in CA and my dad decided he had enough fun!  Hehe...  My family is originally from New England, but they moved out there for health reasons of my grandfather.
