Ideal Body Weight

I have lost 36lbs to date and certainly am looking and feeling healthier!  According to Weight Watchers, I should weigh any where between 102 and 128.  That is a pretty wide range!  Right now my goal is to get to 128lbs.  Once I hit 128lbs I will see how I feel and then either stay there or lose a few more.  I have seen a few people in my life loose weight on WW, watched them struggle to stay at their goal weight, and eventually gain it all back.  I have struggled with weight most of my adult life and I don't want to have to fight tooth and nail to stay at my goal weight; yes I know I will ALWAYS have to watch what I eat or I will balloon back up to the person I used to be; I never want to see her face AGAIN!  I have worked too damn hard to loose it and I WILL keep it off.  Yes I know weight fluctuates a few pounds here and there, but I will hit my goal weight, make it through maintenance, and live a healthy life!  I want to be around for my my family for a very long time! I want to be a great role model for my daughter and show her that food and eating are a normal part of living and do not have to constantly be a battle.

Here is the information WW provided me from a little quiz I took! If you want to take it, go here.

Your Personal Assessment Results

Your BMI

Your Healthy Weight Range
102 to 128 lbs
Your body
Your Body Mass Index, or BMI, is above your "healthy" range of 20-25, in the overweight category. Research has shown that this can increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and some cancers. Losing weight will lower your BMI, which can reduce your risk of these health problems, and likely improve your energy levels, and overall sense of well-being. You can get the motivation and information you need to lose weight - and keep it off - with Weight Watchers.

Your healthy weight range is 102 - 128 lbs. You're currently above this range. Losing weight could decrease your risk for many serious health problems, and can also contribute to higher energy, and other day-to-day benefits. Weight Watchers can help you reach a healthy weight - and stay there.
Your mindset
Your answers indicate that your motivations for losing weight can fuel you toward long-term success, and that you understand the overarching strategies that are critical to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Nothing is holding you back, except perhaps some normal anxiety based on previous weight-loss experiences. Weight Watchers has a step-by-step approach that can fit easily into your life.

Winter Wonderland Warriors: Challenge Wrap Up!

Life's Journey with a Smile

WOW! What a fun 12 weeks this has been and I am looking forward to the Spring Fever Challenge Amy has coming up!  Here is my recap of the goals I set for myself 12 weeks ago!

1. Lose 12lbs:
Yup, I did that! I lost a total of 15.8lbs since the beginning!! WOO HOO!!! So excited and proud of myself!

2. Drink 48oz of water each day:
I think I hit this one about 50% of the time! I know each day I drink at the very least 32oz, plus two 8oz glasses of milk; if you add that together that gives me the 48! LOL!!!

3. Exercise 3x a week:
Some weeks I did, some I didn't.  I'd say this one was also about 50%!  I am looking forward to the warmer weather of the spring so I can start running again!

4. Read more of my books:
Yes I did this one for sure!! I completed 2 books and am in the middle of reading 2 more!!!

5. Get my daughter on a more "normal" eating routine/habit:
I am certainly making progress with this one, but this is going to be something that is a constant battle for me with her.  She is just a plain ol' picky eater and that's all there is to it!

6. Scrapbook more:
Ya, not so much.  I scrapped ONE page these past 12 weeks.  So very sad as I am so very, very far behind!

7. Organize my home:
I am kicking butt and taking names on this one!!!  I have done a TON of work clearing out junk from my basement, bedroom, hall closet, and kitchen!!! YAHOO! Still a lot of work to be done, but I will keep working at it until I am happy with it!

8. Be more patient with my daughter:
This is one that I will always have to strive for; some days are better then others!

9. Make more cooked meals and eat out less:
Yes I have done WELL with this one!!!  I am working hard on keeping a very simple menu each week and sticking to it!

Do you feel like you had a productive winter?
Overall yes.  Many of these goals will be carried over into the Spring Fever Challenge, though!

Winter Wonderland Warriors: Week 12

Life's Journey with a Smile

Positive Picture:

Yep, I hit the 35lb mark this week at my WW meeting!!! YAY!

What have you done this past week to help achieve your goals?
I lost .6lbs this week so that puts me at 15.8lbs down since the beginning of this challenge!! I wanted to lose a total of 12 so I went above and beyond that! YAHOOO!!  I am also still reading.  I also exercised 3x last week which I haven't done in a while!

With one week left, what is your plan?
Try and keep the exercise goal going as well as the reading!

What was the highlight of your week?
Hitting the 35lb mark!

Did you have a down point? If so, how did you push past it?
I always hit a low at some point in the week and I have to do lots of self-talk to get myself out of that!

Fun Question of the Week: What's your favourite television show from the past? Presently?
Hmmm.... From the past?  Like how far in the past?  I really liked LOST, but if I had to think really far back I dunno! Currently my fav is Dexter!!!!!

Another Non-Scale Victory!

I bought a skirt (size 10) a couple of summers ago on clearance at Kohl's while I was on one of my other feeble attempts to lose the poundage, hoping that I would get into it.  Well, its been sitting in the bottom draw of my bureau ever since! HA!  Anyways, yesterday afternoon I was noticing how loose my size 12 pants were and thought that just MAYBE the skirt would fit; I tried it on and am so pleasantly surprised that it FITS!!! So gosh darn excited and I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so I can WEAR IT!!!! Its been a long time since I had a skirt that fit that is cute and I am looking forward to actually being able to wear it!

Back on Track: Day 2!

I have been doing well with my eating, although I have not been tracking or exercising.  Yesterday I really strapped myself back onto the wagon and started tracking again.   Today is day 2 of tracking again and its been refreshing! I know that may sound odd, but I feel like I am getting back to myself.  Life has been nutty, but I am starting to feel like myself again and that life is heading upwards.  Tracking my food has made me realize that I am certainly not getting a healthy number of fruits and vegetables.  Its good to know that I am doing well other wise and I think I am finally learning portions with out having to measure everything! Yes, I know measuring stuff is important to keep track of portions, but I am hoping that some day I will just be able to eye ball it and know with confidence that I am not overeating.    I also began exercising again yesterday with 44 minutes on the Wii Fit Plus! It felt great to do so, but today I am a wee bit sore; feel the burn, baby!!!  I am glad overall to be getting back at it with full confidence and determination! I am only 15.6lbs away from my goal and I couldn't be happier!

Winter Wonderland Warriors: Week 11

Life's Journey with a Smile

Positive Picture of the Week:
My little family!

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
I am still reading both of my books and I spent a couple of hours working on cleaning, purging, and organizing things in my basement.  I have made a ton of progress down there, but there is still a ton more stuff that needs to be taken care of.

There are two weeks left in this challenge – what goals are you making priority?
Weight loss and being a better person.

Many people are on or heading into Spring Break right now, do you find it easier or harder to stay on track when your routine disappears?
No spring break for me, but it is harder for me to stay on track when my routine changes!!!

Tell us something positive about this challenge. Could be something that happened to you, you did, you realized…etc.
I have learned so much about myself this challenge its amazing.  I really feel like I have grown up a lot and I know that may seem silly, but there has been tons of stuff going on behind the scenes and I have been forced to either sink or swim; I think I am swimming pretty well!

Fun Question of the Week: The clocks sprung forward this weekend, does the time change mess you up or do you just go on like nothing happened?
Doesn't really bother me.  The first day the times I get hungry are off a bit, but it's not that big of a deal.

Winter Wonderland Warriors: Week 10

Life's Journey with a Smile

Positive Picture of the Week:
I hit the 30lb loss mark this week!!!! YAHOOO!!!!

What have you done this past week to help you achieve your goals?
I lost -2lbs this week!!!!  WOOO HOOOOO!!  I am also still steadily reading both of my books.  I have done a bang up job too making good, healthy meals at home for me and my daughter!  :0)

New month! How are you feeling with the end of the challenge coming up soon?
I can hardly believe this challenge is coming to a close! WHOA! Where has the time gone?  I am feeling pretty good about the progress I have made with my goals, even if I haven't completed them.  In the next challenge I will continue working on some of them and tweak others.  New month, renewed motivation!!!!

What would you change differently about this challenge for the Spring Fever Challenge beginning soon?
Hmmm... like I said in the previous question, I am going to tweak some of my goals!!!

What have you learned about yourself during this challenge (or past few months)?
That I am a VERY strong person and no matter what I WILL BE FINE!  I have also learned many things about myself that I need to improve on to be a better person to those around me.

Fun Question of the Week: Do you enter contests? Have you ever won one?
Not really.  Sometimes I will get a scratch ticket, but I never win.  I did take part in a Biggest Loser Contest at work a few years ago and I won over $100!!!

Current Weight: Week Twenty-Nine

146.6 (-2.0)

I have hit the 30lb mark and then some!!! YAY!

30 Days in Pictures: Day 5

Yep, I am taking my sweet time posting these! Hey, the rules didn't say it had to be 30 consecutive days!

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.

There are so many memories that I would consider to be a favorite, but this is the one that popped into my head when I read what Day 5 is about.  I know it's kind of an odd thing to have as a favorite memory, but here it is.  This is the VERY first time I changed my daughters diaper.  I had a c-section after being in labor for nearly 30 hours.  I was completely exhausted and in so much pain for the first few days of her little life that I could barely get out of bed, let alone care for her.  Thank goodness for my husband who stepped up to the plate and did all that stuff for her while I was unable.  The very first time I was able to change her was a HUGE victory for me and such a special thing.  I was able on my own power to get out of bed and do something for her that she needed.  I loved how that moment in time was completely about the two of us bonding over such a simple and mundane task.  I will never forget the joy and pride I felt.

Back in the Saddle AGAIN!

Life has been WACKO lately and I am really struggling.  I have been ignoring my weight loss; don't get me wrong I haven't been eating out of control or stress eating for that matter, but just not following program.  Today something clicked for me and I feel compelled to get back in the saddle!  So I am putting on my boots and chaps and am mounting up on that horse! YEE-HAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
